Faire Market Manual 6: SEO basics ahead of Faire Summer Market
Share
We've hit week 6 of the Market Manual. If you missed the first 5 you can catch up right here.
This week we are diving into SEO on Faire. Not the most glamorous topic, but one of the most powerful when it comes to getting discovered by the right retailers.
At Summer Market, timing is everything. Retailers are not shopping for now, they are shopping for what comes next. Your SEO needs to reflect that.
So how should you approach SEO for Faire Summer Market?
- Pack your listings with seasonal keywords. Retailers are searching for Autumn/Winter and Christmas right now. Think gifting, stocking fillers, winter essentials, holiday products. If your range allows for it, this should be your priority.
- Don’t ignore late summer completely. Some retailers are still topping up for summer, so if you have relevant products, keep them visible. But if you have the scope, lean heavily into Christmas and winter. That’s where the bulk of demand is heading.
- Get your product titles right. This is one of the most important ranking factors. Be clear, descriptive and keyword rich. Think how a retailer would search, not how you would describe your product internally.
- Use all available tags and categories. Faire gives you space to tell the algorithm what your product is. Use it. Don’t leave fields empty.
- Think in search terms, not brand terms. Retailers are not searching your brand name (yet). They are searching “Christmas gift”, “winter accessories”, “stocking filler”, “boutique gift ideas”. Meet them where they are.
- Consistency across your catalogue matters. The algorithm learns from patterns. If all your products are clearly positioned and keyword aligned, you build momentum across your whole store.
- SEO doesn’t work in isolation. The more you sell, the more visible you become. Strong offers, good ranges and great merchandising all feed into your SEO performance.
If you take one thing from this email, it’s this:
Align your keywords with what retailers are buying next, not what you are selling now.
Action for this week: Review your top 5 products and update their titles, descriptions and tags with Autumn/Winter and Christmas keywords where relevant.
Quick tip:
Look at your own search behaviour. Go onto Faire and type in what you think a retailer would search for. See what comes up. Those are the keywords you should be using.
