What’s on my brain this week?

AI Photography

AI is finally getting good enough to be used in the fashion and jewlery space for product imagery. We’ve been looking for this for a long time on Bare Kind, socks have been notoriously hard to get good quality AI imagery for that didn’t make you feel like you were looking at an optical illusion. That being said we are still predominantly real photography and supplementing with AI when we need it. This is because owning a product business is a content game, and we will win by having more content at higher quality. Especially for packaged products, the AI hasn’t quite got the perspective right for these products yet. So if a hand is holding a can of coke, the can would look too small. Plus with packaging needing to be so precise to match all the labelling, AI can’t quite match that yet.

Amazon A+ content

Amazon uses guidelines on your content to tell you whether it’s considered A+ content or not. So if you do have A+ content on Amazon - use it on Faire! Use it to model what good looks like. We are seeing some excellent results on client accounts by using iconography within the images, graphic design to bring across key proof points on the image itself. Tell a story in the imagery, having just plain photography isn’t enough anymore. (By the way we cover this off with a whole chapter in our brand new book How to Get More Sales on Faire, head to Chapter 8, you can get a free copy here.

Pre-orders

Always always offer pre-orders. This has been such a game changer on Bare Kind and we are pushing it on clients accounts too with some remarkable results. You’re basically looking at a way to improve your cash flow to the point where you have ZERO cash flow worries. We never thought we’d get there but it’s happening to us right now. In 2024 we sold 1% of socks on pre-order, then 24% in 2025 and as of March 2026 we’ve already pre-sold 50% of our stock for the year, which means we have already paid for production before it’s even started, is this not the dream position for a product brand? Pre-orders - seriously consider it for Faire and other wholesale channels!

Final thought

That’s what’s on the brain this week, hope you find it insightful. Let me know if you have questions.

See you in the algorithm,

Andy
