Faire Report #6: Infographics & a new customer segment...

What’s on my brain this week?
The power of infographics
Make it really simple for retailers to understand exactly what they need to know about your product.
One of the easiest ways to elevate your Faire listings is by adding infographics directly onto your product photography. Don’t just show the product — show the key selling points, the benefits, the use case, the size, the materials, the bestsellers, or anything else a retailer needs to make a confident buying decision.
If you don’t have a designer to make infographics for you, there are plenty of ready-made infographic packs on Etsy that you can adapt for your brand. The goal is simple: make your listings easier to buy from.
Messages still move the needle
Faire messages are still working, but the key is to use them properly and at scale. Think of them as a marketing opportunity, not just a customer service tool.
Our favourite segment right now is retailers who have recently clicked or opened an email. You can build this using filters, then send them a message along the lines of: “Hey, I noticed you clicked on one of our emails and wanted to check in.”
Make sure you’re focusing on retailers who ordered over 60 days ago, so the message feels relevant and timely. This is working really well across accounts right now.
Sales problem or operations problem?
If you’re struggling because you have too many orders coming in, and that is starting to create quality control issues, don’t panic and make changes that reduce demand.
You don’t necessarily have a sales problem. You probably have an operations problem.
Instead of changing things that could make you sell less or sell more, change the expectations your retailers have. For example, increase your lead times, communicate clearly, and make sure buyers know when to expect their orders.
We’re seeing brands panic and make huge changes to their systems, when really the demand is there and the sales are working. That is a good problem to have. It is much easier to fix an operations problem than it is to fix a sales problem.
That’s what’s on the brain this week, hope you find it insightful. Let me know if you have questions.
See you in the algorithm,
Andy
