Faire Report #8: Collections, Exporting and Trade Catalogues.

What’s on my brain this week?
More collections always
Build more collections. More, more, more.
Collections are a small SEO opportunity on Faire. They are not as powerful as fully optimizing all of your product listings, but they still give your account a lift and they are relatively easy to create.
The more organised and intentional your collections are, the easier it becomes for retailers to browse your range and discover products they may not have originally searched for.
Create an exporter page on your website
If you want to attract distributors and international sales agents, your website should have a dedicated exporter page.
This is how you start moving into bigger wholesale opportunities. If someone discovers your brand and is interested in representing you internationally, don’t make it difficult for them to figure out whether you are open to it.
Make it obvious. Give them a clear place to enquire, explain the markets you already serve, and show that you are ready to scale.
Trade catalogues are becoming less important
Trade catalogues still matter if you are attending in-person trade shows. In that environment, they absolutely have a role to play.
But if you are primarily a Faire brand, which we are seeing more and more of, don’t spend huge amounts of time and money creating elaborate trade catalogues.
Your time is probably better spent improving your on-page SEO, strengthening your product listings, and building content that actively helps retailers discover and buy from your brand.
