Faire Report #22: Some updates from Faire we are loving.

What’s on my brain this week?

Faire has had another refresh

Faire has had another refresh.

The platform was already one of the better-looking wholesale platforms out there, but Faire seems to be streamlining the interface even further.

The side menu is now tucked away and you can hover over each section to bring up the relevant options. Small change, but it makes the account feel cleaner and gives you more space to actually work.

We always love seeing new features arrive on Faire. Although, if anyone at Faire is reading this: the platform already looks good enough. What we'd really love next is deeper analytics!

A new Faire Direct automation

There's a new automation in town.

You can now automatically follow up with retailers who signed up through your Faire Direct link but haven't yet placed an order.

We like this one because these aren't completely cold leads. They've already taken the step of signing up through your link, so there is some intent there. They may simply need another reason or reminder to place that first order.

It's exactly the sort of follow-up that is easy to forget manually, so get the automation switched on and let Faire do some of the chasing for you.

You can now exclude products from Promoted Listings

Faire has also added more control to Promoted Listings. You can now toggle individual products off so they aren't included in your ads.

This is useful if a product is low on stock, out of stock, particularly low margin or simply isn't performing well enough to justify the advertising spend.

Our starting position, though, would still be to keep as many suitable products included as possible.

More products means more opportunities for Faire to find the right retailer and generate a sale. We'd avoid getting too trigger-happy and switching products off simply because they haven't converted immediately.

We're testing this across accounts now, so we'll keep updating you as we learn more about when exclusions actually improve performance.

Segments just became much easier to use

This is a tiny update that we're very happy about: you can now search for segments in Faire's CRM rather than scrolling through the entire list.

If you aren't already using segments, you should be.

Faire gives you groups such as retailers with abandoned carts, customers who last ordered over 60 days ago and plenty more. These make it much easier to send messages that are actually relevant to the retailer receiving them.

And we're big believers in messaging regularly. You should be doing something in your Faire account every day, and segments give you a simple way to decide who to speak to and what to say.

Final thought

None of these updates is going to transform your Faire account on its own.

But Faire keeps giving brands more tools to follow up, advertise and target retailers more intelligently. The advantage comes from actually using them.

And Faire, if we're putting in feature requests: analytics next, please.

See you on the marketplace,

Andy
